Thanksgiving

Praise God for all he has done for us, in us and through us as a diocese in 2023.

for the consecration of Stuart Bell in March.
for the opportunity to participate in and contribute to Gafcon IV in Kigali in April & the growing partnership with our sister diocese, AMiE, through the Network delegation.
for new congregations and ministry units joining us during the year – The Way, Bolton; Wellfield, Leyland; Holy Trinity, Ardnamuchan – and the prospect of others joining us in 2024.
for the encouragement of global leaders through visits and messages.
for godly appointments – Steve Chisholm to Christ the King; Dave McCarthy to Westhill Community Church.
for sacrificial, generous financial provision for the diocese.
for our bishops, their care, support, encouragement and faithfulness.

Give thanks for

Pray

for me (Bishop Ian Ferguson) as I lead especially for my preparation times and for the technical side of things, so that each service will continue to run smoothly.
that we continue to reach more people especially those who are struggling within the Canterbury aligned churches.
as I seek to launch a zoom coffee morning for our VC in the new year.
that this will help us develop our relationships as we meet together.

Praise

the progress and many encouragements of 2023 with the sovereign overruling for our good of a great God and Father.
The joy of family visits over Christmas.
The opportunities presented by Christmas events locally.
Encouraging times in Portugal, London and Scarborough.
Continued recovery of mobility and the growing opportunities to make plans in the coming year.
For the Lord’s help in chairing some difficult meetings.
The Anglican Network in Europe is now an Associate Member of the Global South Fellowship of Anglicans.

Prayer

Wisdom in meetings with Church of England contenders
Continued enquiries and the integration of new congregations and the planting of others.
Dependence on the Lord in prayer, fruit from reading the Bible chronologically in a year, and growing Christlikeness.
