Prayer updates (April 2024)

Wellspring Church, Pembroke

For praise

  • We are beginning to form some positive links with the local school and pub.
  • We have another baptism in the sea lined up in coming weeks.
  • Our minister, Josh Maynard, is now officially employed by Wellspring.

For prayer

  • We have a number of ‘drifters’ in the congregation who are dipping in and out but not fully committing.
  • There are still some details to work out with regards to Josh’s contract and PAYE.
  • For Easter events to bear fruit.

St Silas, Glasgow

St Silas Glasgow, International Service
  • Give thanks for new life, with 3 guys who came on our recent life course now professing faith – a real joy and encouragement.
  • Praise God that our move to plant a new weekly morning service has enabled growth, and that our Sunday services at 9.30 and 11.30 are both well attended.
  • Pray for the Lord to add to our number those who are being saved.
  • As we advertise training roles for next year, including ministry traineeships and a ‘leader-in-training’ role, ask that the Lord will raise up workers for the harvest fields of Glasgow.

St Thomas’, Edinburgh

Bishop Andy Lines

St Thomas’ is a long-established congregation with a passion for Biblical teaching, prayer and evangelism. Our last Rector, Dave McCarthy, was called to Westhill Community Church so we are now in a vacancy, with Bishop Ian Ferguson helping us as our interim Rector.

We ask for prayer about…

  • The appointment process for new Rector – that we will proceed wisely.
  • The ongoing work of the church and congregation during the vacancy – that we will function as we should, being careful to seek God’s will and to walk within it.
  • A renewal of the sense of mission as we go through this period of change.
  • For more young families to join us.
  • We are very conscious of our need to be united and of the risk of arguments breaking out over things which are not of first order importance. Please pray for protection from that and that we will take care to be gentle with each other.

Holy Trinity, Ardnamurchan

Please pray for us:

  • To be bold witnesses to Christ and his kingdom as we continue to build friendships and connections with locals.
  • That we would walk in step with the Holy Spirit and know wisdom and discernment especially as we form the charity, and prayerfully form a board of trustees, and develop our website.
  • That the right students would be drawn to our three-week Seer School in August. (www.b-roads.ink/seerschool)
  • That people would be drawn to build with us for the long term, and for the ongoing provision of finances for this abbey-like church and for us as a family.

The Way Church, Bolton

Praise God for…

  • a successful Hope Out Loud event in Bolton Town Centre. Lots of people met and introduced to our Church and given a free Easter egg.
  • a successful Blokes and Ladies Curry and Comedy night with around 50 guests in attendance. Many enjoyed a gentle introduction to the Gospel.
  • our first birthday; thanking God for all those who we have encountered this last year.

Pray for…

  • vision renewal over this next year.
  • us to listen to Jesus for where he wants us to fish for people in this next season.
