Prayer updates (August 2024)

Christ The King Almancil

On Sunday 28 July, Christ The King Anglican Church welcomed Utsab and Utsah Koirala into the family of Christ by a symbolic full immersion baptism. Rector, Rev Steve Chisholm said, “Baptism is a public declaration of a changed life, a desire to be in relationship with Jesus and to fully follow him. We are so happy to be welcoming the boys into our worldwide Church family, and will take great joy in watching them grow and prosper in the Lord.”

St Thomas’, Edinburgh

• We have several thousand new homes being built about 10 minutes’ walk from our church door. Many of them will be bought by families with children, which is a sector we need to reach. Please pray that the Lord will guide us in making a plan to reach them and that He will open doors.
• Please continue to pray as we look to appoint a new rector.
• Please pray for all who are involved in the ministry of St Thomas’ during the vacancy. Some are becoming tired and need to be energised; and all need guidance that they may be within the Lord’s will in all they do.

Holy Trinity Church, Ardnamurchan

We give thanks for:

• An encouraging visit from Bishop Andy and Mandy.
• Church leaders from various denominations coming to Greenwood for rest and sabbatical.
• Being able to baptise a student on one of our retreats with water from St. Columba’s well that flows on our land.
• The slow but steady redevelopment of one of our cottages.
• The good fruit coming from praying the Daily Office each day as a fledgling community.

Please pray for:

• Wisdom and discernment about what our core ministry and mission is here. It feels like we are trying to do too much too quickly. May we know his grace to stay in our lane.
• Our charity formation process and application to OSCR.
• Our summer school happening from 9th-30th August.
• Peace and protection of our family.

Wellfield Church, Leyland

Praise God for:

• His provision for all our needs over the last 16 years.
• People who have turned to Christ through Wellfield Church in our local neighbourhood, for his work of transforming lives.
• Children in the church, and those who teach them from the Bible week by week.

Please pray for:

• Our leadership team, to be united, zealous and godly.
• Those struggling with the ongoing effects of past addictions and bad choices.
• The Lord’s guidance, to give us a clear sense of direction in the coming months.
